Problem with cloudy water/pleco/fish dying?

Bought a 20 gallon tank 10 months ago. Filtered water for 4 days, and it got cloudy. Added 7 small fish, still cloudy after a month. Added live bacteria to create cycle, still cloudy. Had water yzed told everything was fine. Fish were happy and growing nicely. Had 4 painted tetras, 1 scissortail tetra, 4 glowfish and 3 platys. Tank never cleared up, even after trying water clarifying drops, adding more bacteria, doing serious water changes, etc. Top of water looks like it has a "film" on it, white fuzzy stuff aculating in spongy filter and on various parts of filter which turn greenish brown when wiped off with a paper towel on fish tank wipes. Plastic plants started aculating brownish slime which I think is brown algae. An acquaintance was getting rid of a pleco (getting rid of her tanks completely), so I said I'd take one. Well it's 6" long and UGLY! It is always stuck to the side of the tank, and have been throwing one Omega One Veggie Rounds disk daily. The glowfish loved pecking at it, but I don't think the Pleco is even eating it. Since getting the Pleco, I have lost a multitude of fish: 2 newly purchased tattooed mollies (I know it's bad, but my 6 year old really wanted them), 3 glowfish, 3 platys and now my blue painted tetra. We added 3 neons a week ago, and one neon is already dead. I don't know what's going on! Tonight I noticed what looks like clumps of bellyon fuzz (for lack of a better term) with pink stuff inside it. I think it's either the Veggie Rounds or Pleco crap (this thing is crapping like CRAZY in this tank! I can't keep up with it when doing the weekly tank cleaning!) What the heck is going on? I checked the ammonia levels -- zero. I yzed the water tonight and here is the readings: NO3 (Nitrate) = 20 (under 40 OK as per dipstick instructions), NO2 (Nitrite) = 0, pH = less than 6.0 (which is the lowest shown on the chart -- this is definitely low), Alk = 0 (instructions say between 120-300 is best for freshwater) an Th (hardness) = 0 (instructions say 50-150 best). I need PROFESSIONAL responses. This is a complex problem going on, and I have consulted various professional fish people here in NYC and I still can't figure out what's going on. The multiple deaths have only occurred since the Pleco arrived. Could he be doing something to the fish to kill them? Or is there something serious wrong with NYC tap water, left over night to get the chlorine out? Sometimes we use water from the tap and add de-chlorinator to it before putting in the aquarium too. HELP! PLEASE! I only have 6 fish left (beside that stupid Pleco) and I don't want them to die too! It's been really hard trying to explain this to my 6 year old, when these fish are dying every couple days!!!

uming you isolated the boiler before commencing work, reopen flow/return valves beneath & charge the system up to 2 bar via filling loop. Bleed the towel rail and any rads. Ensure system has 1-1.5 bar in when this is done. The auto air vent on the boiler will bleed any air. Run the boiler without heat (no gas) to prevent any possible damage to heat exchanger (incase air in there). You will have to reset the boiler 3 or 4 times after the flame failure kicks in. All we want is the pump to run for a minute or so. When this is done check gauge/top up turn the gas back on underneath and you should be ok.

Gas, Loose Stool, Cramps...still ... clindamycin the culprit???

The beginning of June I was prescribed Clindamycin for abscess tooth, took 23 of the 30 150mg pills. The bad tooth was removed and the abscess is not there. Ever since I took those pills I have yet to have myself 100% and I believe that is why. I have not had any antibiotics/meds since then and even still my insides are telling me they are not right. Some days I will feel fine some days not, when I am not it goes for usually 2-3 days. The onset starts with excessive gas, then cramping, irregular bowel movements sometimes 3 times a days, then sometimes none on and off like this. Usually after going poo I feel worse then better. I generally will feel bad for a few days and then gradually get better. My bm's have not been normal, usually loose/thin. My diet consists of raisin bran, yogurt in the morning, sandwich/pasta/meat for lunch/dinner. I was tested for C-Diff with a stool sample, said neg. I know something is up but the hospital and doc says there is nothing wrong.

Why so few residential rooftop decks in Washington DC 20002?

I'm buying a house close to the H street corridor in NE DC zip code 20002. It falls in the zone R-5-B, I want to know if I would be allowed to put in a rooftop deck. The neighborhood is not clified as a historic one although all/most of the houses were built in the 30's and 40's. Old mini-fridge, suddenly stopped working, please help!?

I obtained an old mini-fridge from my grandmother, and it has worked perfectly. I cannot seem to find any identification on the brand of the fridge, but it does have a wood finished siding on it. My buddy recently pushed a white on located on the inside of the fridge, and it just stopped working. The on is sticks out of a black dial on the upper right side of the interior of the fridge. The dial has marking on it labeled as; "stop", "min", "med", and "max". I have tried turning the dial into different positions(which is really hard to do, because the dial is so hard to turn), i have tried unplugging the fridge and then plugging it back in, and i have tried pushing the white on again. Nothing that I try seems to help. There does not appear to be anything on the backside of the fridge that I can change. Please help me, I do not want to have to buy another mini-fridge. I will award best answer to the person who provides the advice I need to fix the fridge.

I have tried many products to remove animal odors from my shoes and belts, but to no avail: some mint-based leather deodorizer, Febreeze applied with a cotton ball, various leather cleaning products, full strength orange oil, full strength Pine Sol, even full strength bleach. Within 48 hours the smell of the cleaning product fades away and the bad odor reappears even though these items are no longer kept where they picked up the odor. I have had bronchitis 3 times in the last year & a half.?

The area that I've lived in for the last 2 years is nicknamed "the allergy capital of the world." Every time I've had bronchitis, it's happened after a particularly bad bout of allergies. My doctor has prescribed antibiotics each time, which seemed to work, but I'd just rather not have bronchitis at all. I do not smoke nor do I live with anyone who does, I eat a balanced diet, I try to get enough sleep, & I exercise regularly. I can't figure out what I should do differently to avoid getting bronchitis so much. Any suggestions?

Question about chapter 13 bankruptcy and car repossession?

How do I stop physical abuse?

My mother physically abuses all of the kids (Including me) to reinforce discipline. Most of the time it really goes to far. For example: My brother refused to eat some corn my mother had set out on the table. He claimed that his tooth hurt. He continuously tries to eat the corn after being forced by mother but starts to cry. She starts whacking him, in the face and on the arms and says "Eat the f*cking corn!". My sister stands up in his defense, telling my mother not to hit him (by the way my brother is only 6 years old) and she gets up and slaps my sister across the face. Then, I stood up and told my mom to stop it. After continuously telling my mom to stop hitting my brother, she tells me to shut up, and that when she gets to me she will slap me. When the madness was over I went on the computer to do some homework. My mom follows me to the computer room and starts slapping me for "rooting" my brother. All I can think is "WHAT THE HELL?!" then I say something that kind of crosses the line. Out of the anger and vexation built inside of me I say "I don't give a SH!T!" My mom grabs me by the hair, tackles me to the floor, and starts yanking my head back and forth (using my hair). Wow. That made me pretty sad. It's pretty good, but I don't think it focuses enough on how to actually spend one's last day...unless that's not the point you were trying to make? I think you could extend it a little. Also, it feels somewhat unifinished. It rhymes very well, and the use of vocabulary is excellent, but it is repetitive. You should add more details, as opposed to only rephrasing previous ones. I like the idea for the poem, though. It's fascinating, and you can make it very powerful, if you polish it a little bit.

My grand kids dog died today and just wondering how would go about burying it if its late at night?

My poor granddaughter is only 8 and called me tonight crying about her dog dieing. Well if this isn't worse enough on The poor child NOW I found out that her mom's BF told her mom he couldn't bury her cause there was no place in the yard to do so. And the kids were upset because he is burning her? Cremating her in the back yard? I am so concerned more now for all her kids! I couldn't believe this but, my daughter said she is at work and couldn't do nothing! she could only call the kids and tell them that sometimes people do this when they die if they don't want to be buried. which is true for some that want that when they die but how do you feel about someone doing that to their dead dog? Is this weird or what to you. My daughter said he didn't know what else to do. I said take her to a local EMS Vet and they will dispose of it but she said she can't do nothing cause she's at work and that her BF done started it and the kids was looking out the window and told her and was crying really bad. Now I can't do anything but worry about the kids and how this will effect them in the long run. She said she feels bad cause she cant be there with them but talked to them on the phone about it and tryed to explain about cremation. Nerf Blaster Problems. HELP!!!?

I own many Nerf blasters, but two stand out to me. The Nerf Vulcan EBF-25, and the CS6 Recon. Althought the Vulcan is not neccesarily broken, the orange handle thing that is used to the Vulcan (i think thats how you say it) is stuck together! Therefore, when I turn off the Vulcan, it cant fire because I believe I need that orange handle thing to it. But the handle is stuck together. I tried opening it with a screw driver... No luck. Nothing works. The CS6 Recon has a flip up site. But it cant rotate side to side! Only up a down, and therfore makes it unaccurate and has a small radius of firing. ANY help whatsoever is highly appreciated. Any experienced Nerfers out there? Thanks! :)

Hi first of all I am very sad bec I finally took a preg test after thinking I was preg and it came back neg I am surprised to find out. My question is that on the box it isays that it detects pregnancy by 99.8% accuracy 7 to 10 days after conception, and not ovulation like I had been here here on YA time and time again. Is that uming that conception/ovulation are on the same day? Now i understand how tight the times of conception are, that it really must be on the exact day of ovulation. Is that correct? I won't believe any of the other 'sperm lives for 7 days' or 'you can get pregnant any day of the month' myths then, right?

Question about computer mouse and keyboard problem?

So I fixed one of our cpu's that was broke about a year ago. I'm not very computer savvy, so I'm pretty stoked that I fixed it on my own. Anyway, we don't have the original mouse and keyboard(using one from our working cpu) so while they are plugged in and lighting up, it's not registering and working. i haven't done a system recovery, but when I went to that menu at the computer's start, they were working. However, when I left that and went to a normal start-up, neither registers again. Would a system recovery fix this problem? Any other tips?

Klonopin (Clonazepam) side effect - bruising?

you may not be noticing it, but you are probably bumping into things. i notice this was happening to me when i was getting used to taking klonopin. I'd stub my toe or kick/throw my leg off the couch and hit the coffee talbe, but it wouldn't really bother me or i wouldnt really take too much notice because the klonopin is keeping you relaxed and not as responsive. you're not drugged up, but your body is adjusting to this new med and soon enough you'll notice you wont have many bruises. i don't anymore.

2001 Chevy Blazer, What's wrong with the heater? It doesn't heat up even after 30 minutes.?

In my boyfriends blazer, the heater won't heat up. After leaving it running for 30 minutes the heater blows out semi warm air. Just warm enough to keep the windows somewhat thawed out. We can't figure out what is wrong with it. It's not the heating coils. They are fine. Any suggestions? We live in Wyoming and right now the weather is about -4 below zero. Accident; No damage, No injury, Left scene?

I was driving lastnight in some heavy traffic in center city Philadelphia. Traffic had stopped and as I was trying to get into a lane to the left of me, the genius in front of me decided to slam her breaks on (due to cellphone usage). Your best bet is to go ahead and purchase a heater and small sponge filter. If you have multiple fish in the tank that have ich, slowly raise the water temperature to around84-86 degrees. Preferably over the period of a couple days. Add aquarium salt at approx 1 tsp per gallon. Keep the temperature up for a week or two. This shortens the life cycle of the ich and allows treatment without any medications. As far as the tank needing cycled, I keep a spare sponge filter in one of my tanks just for situations like this. You can treat the water, install the heater and the seeded filter and have an instant hospital/quarantine tank.

Hey! This actually looks like a good stall / burn deck. A few suggestions I would like to give are to replace the solar flare dragons with volcanic slicers. Both deal 500dmg per turn, but you dont need to wait til the end with Volcanic, also it has a pretty nice 1800 atk, so he will be more difficult to kill. You should know though that Ring of Destruction is banned now. A pretty good replacement might be Nightmare Wheel. Also you may want to add Raging Flame Sprite(s) they can deal a lot of direct damage. You could also consider adding Chaos Burst, to destroy an opp monster while simultaneously dealing 1000 life points damage.

Fade cream made my scar more red?!?

I have a redish pink scar on my cheek that is about 9 months old from surgery to remove a mole, and I recently decided that I would try Palmer's Fade Cream on it to help reduce the redness. Well it's been 2 days since I received it and started to use it, and it seems like the scar has become even more red than before. Is there a problem or is this normal and should I continue use? It doesn't feel much different than before it's just a little more red, and it's only been 2 days. The product claims results can be seen within 6-8 weeks.
