My grand kids dog died today and just wondering how would go about burying it if its late at night?

My poor granddaughter is only 8 and called me tonight crying about her dog dieing. Well if this isn't worse enough on The poor child NOW I found out that her mom's BF told her mom he couldn't bury her cause there was no place in the yard to do so. And the kids were upset because he is burning her? Cremating her in the back yard? I am so concerned more now for all her kids! I couldn't believe this but, my daughter said she is at work and couldn't do nothing! she could only call the kids and tell them that sometimes people do this when they die if they don't want to be buried. which is true for some that want that when they die but how do you feel about someone doing that to their dead dog? Is this weird or what to you. My daughter said he didn't know what else to do. I said take her to a local EMS Vet and they will dispose of it but she said she can't do nothing cause she's at work and that her BF done started it and the kids was looking out the window and told her and was crying really bad. Now I can't do anything but worry about the kids and how this will effect them in the long run. She said she feels bad cause she cant be there with them but talked to them on the phone about it and tryed to explain about cremation. I just want to know what others think about this I already know to me it is Crazy and I couldn't hardly bear the thought of this. Especially because of the kids and they loved that dog and didn't need to see that or didn't even need to know i would think. Couldn't he have called a emergency vet office and maybe have took it to them? I know they would charge but how much ? Couldn't they have found another way ? It's just so upsetting. what can anyone do now. My spouse woke up and I told him and he said the guy was crazy. maybe someone else will feel like he was in the right but I wonder what you think?
