Fade cream made my scar more red?!?

I have a redish pink scar on my cheek that is about 9 months old from surgery to remove a mole, and I recently decided that I would try Palmer's Fade Cream on it to help reduce the redness. Well it's been 2 days since I received it and started to use it, and it seems like the scar has become even more red than before. Is there a problem or is this normal and should I continue use? It doesn't feel much different than before it's just a little more red, and it's only been 2 days. The product claims results can be seen within 6-8 weeks.
