Xbox Live on satellite internet?

I have the cheapest HUGHES(satellite company) deal, about 1.0Mbps(128Kbps). Would I be able to play Live without horrible lag, or would I need to upgrade to like 2.0Mbps or 1.6Mbps? I don't mind a little lag, so please answe.
