No, this is not normal behavior. This guy has serious trust, controlling, insecurity issues and seems to be carrying alot of baggage. Cut it off, you don't want to get in any deeper with this person. It might help to bring this up to him as he could be doing this subconciously. If you really like him and want to keep dating him, I suggest you ask him to seek professional help first.
