Is California a Mexican territory anymore?

I'm curious to know because I was born in Oakland, California and I lived there until I was about 9 years old. I now live in Indianapolis, Indiana. So please let me know if California is still a Mexican territory ASAP. And also, please take this as a serious question, and not a dumb one. Thanks!
