Is anyone else sad about the quality of scottish football?

I love the SPL and i am very saddened to think that we can't even compete with the championship down south. In the 80s the SPL was on top form, teams like dundee utd and aberdeen were feared, aberdeen won the cup winners cup, rangers were buying players from the premier league etc. Why are we letting money ruin football? The EPL is just a huge sponge taking all the talent away by luring players with huge wages.
