How do you incorporate thoughts of characters into your writing...?

well you just have tell your reader what's going on and I agree with you, the constant he said/she said stuff gets old. I think for starters you do have to indent when your "speaker" changes. Can you not sometimes just narrate that she is thinking and explain what she is thinking/feeling?
